Wallet card tutorial

Hello Everyone!!

Manu here and I have a wallet style card tutorial. I made a wallet card for the Blog hop that happened between Mudra and Papericious sometime back and I got quite a few requests on how did I made the wallet card. So I decided to make a tutorial for the same.

Here's the card I made

Here's the tutorial.

1. Take a cardstock measuring 8*12 inches and score as marked in the picture below.

2. Now to add flaps, add two flap measuring 3.5*8 inches. Place it as per the picture below

Now the base is done and the wallet card can be assembled as per the choice. I used the Mi Istilo collection to embellish it

Here are the closer pics.

I hope you will like it. Do post your feedback ! I would love to hear your views on this simple wallet card!

Hello Everyone!

This is Manu here and Thank you all for the wonderful creations that we saw in the last challenge!! It was heart warming to see so many absolutely pretty creations!!! The winners will be announced in the next post, so keep looking out for this space!
I loved the Pretty basics collection that papericious had launched last month and found it an apt one for a Keepsake album!! Loved it's rich vibrant colors and I actually had been after Aastha for getting us a cool Polka dot paper pack and she is a true blue people's person!!! Thank you for getting this paper pack out and it's truly one to treasure!!! And yes, what more, Papericious packs are now in200 gsm paper and are super nice to work with!

Here's the album I did!!!
Pretty simple and clean, well, I kind of like keeping my work simple!!! But, the inside is not, there are lots and lots of flaps and flips on each page and that's what the album is actually about.
I also have a video for the inside of the album, do have a look, the link for it is give in the end!

checkout the complete inside pages here

I hope you will like the album and do let me know your views on it!!

Be ready for a new papericious launch tomorrow!

Treat Basket and a tutorial

Hello Everyone!!

I'm Manu and I have a super cute basket to share with you all today!! This basket can be a super way of gifting gifts to your loved one and is pretty simple to make as well!! Now you can gift anything in style!!!
I received the Bird song paper pack in my DT packet and loved the soft colors this pack has. So decided to make a basket!
Check it out here!

Now this sure is a pretty way to hand out the gifts!! Right!!

Lets check on how this one was made!!!

1. Take a 12*12 piece of cardstock (make sure that it's a sturdy one) and score ar 4" and 8". Turn it at 90Degree and again score at 4" and 8" . You would get a 4" grid pattern on your paper.
2. Now, take one side and cut through the 4" slot marked and 8 inches slot marked for 4 inches each. rotate the paper 180 degrees and cut throughh 4" and 8" slot again.
3. Now, make a valley fold across the cut out paper and make a shape like below.

The base of your basket is ready and now you can adorn it with papers and embellish the way you like!

Here's how I did mine !

I hope you liked the basket and would definitely want to try out one for yourself!! after all who doesn't likes gifting in style!!!

The Happiness Box!!!!

Hello Everyone!!!

This is Manu here and I have a surprise for you, A Happiness box is what I call it!!!
I'm sure you all must have gotten your this months release by now?? No, why wait?? grab these super yumm papers soon (I'm gonna get a few more for myself very soon) The new release i.e 'Happy Birthday' and 'Pretty Basics' is a super bright and fun filled one!!!

Being true to it's name, I used the 'Pretty Basics' collection to make up this pretty box!!! The Happiness Box!!!

Liked the Teaser?? Lets checkout the complete project!!!!
Here's the Box for you!!!

The top panel!!

I also have a tutorial on how to make this one!!! It's pretty simple and easy peasy!

1. Take a 12*12 cardstock and score it along 4'' and 8'' on two sides, you will end up having 4" square on your cardstock.
2. Now, cut through(lets say top right hand one) one flap on each side and then fold your box in from all the ends, you will end up having a box like in the picture below.
3. To make the lid, since my box width is 4", I took a 7" square (now here's the tip, I measure 7.1" ie. 1MM extra on two sides so that the box can go inside the lid easily) and then score at 1.5" at all the ends. Shape it like the lid .
4. Tadaaaa, your box is ready to be embellished!!! Go wild with making your Happiness box pretty and full of fun!!

I made a cake inside and embellished it with flowers. For the flaps, I had 4 sentiments along 4 sides and then left 4 places empty to put the pictures!!!

Here's the box completely opened up!

A  Few more closeups of the box !!

I hope you liked the Happiness box, do try making one for yourself and do not forget to share your creation with us!

Birthday special Easel card

Hello Everyone!!

I'm Manu and I'm so happy with the latest Papericious release!! This release is all bright and chirpy and soo colourful!! I'm sure you all must have seen the release by now and this months release offers soo many possibilities with it's 'Happy Birthday' and 'Pretty Basics' stack packs. While the Birthday stack is all about the birthday elements, the Pretty basics stack pack has Polka dots!! One of my favorites!!!! and yes the stripes too!! love this pack !!

Here's what I made with the 'Happy Birthday' Stack!! I chose to make a Easel card and kept the embellishments to bare minimum keeping in mind to highlight the papers!!! I really was pleased with the way the papers did justice to the card and pretty happy that only the papers could make a really nice card too!!

I have done layering of the papers and the base is made with a black cardstock on which a white panel is attached and then 2 layers of pattern papers!

Have also used a stamped sentiment on a stamped imaged and distressed it off!

For added interest, have added a frame on top of the whole adjustement!

Quite happy with the card! And it's super simple and easy to make too!!!

I hope you do remember that papericious has started hosting challenge and this months challenge theme is Vintage!! So, all you vintage lovers, here's a chance for you to enter and grab some amazing prices.  Read all about the challenge here.

Tutorial : Baby themed Squash book !!!

Hello Everyone!!

Half of the year has already gone by and so far the journey has been an awesome one! Papericious is growing leaps and bounds and is committed to bringing the best collection of pattern papers for all you crafty needs!!! We got a chance to use a few of the older collections for the April month, and yes, Papericious has finally started the challenges!!! It's fun entering into the challenges and at the onset of my crafty journey, I used to love participating in the challenges, for they allowed me to explore more and more and I had total fun making all sorts of things for the challenges.
Read all about the papericious challenge by following the below link. Remember that you can enter into the contest for 4 more days.

I received the 'LITTLE STAR' paper pack and it has some really pretty collection for making baby albums and layouts!!
I decided to make a squash book with it and I have a tutorial for doing it too! So sit back and checkout another fun filled interactive card cum album!!

I kept it very simple and clear since it's supposed to hold baby pictures and baby pictures are a perfect in their own way!! There need not be any more embellishments to take away the glory!!
Here's how I made this one!

1. Take perfect squares, you would need 3 pieces, my square measures 9 inches * 9 inches. Make sure that they are perfect squares and also that the scoring is very accurate!

2. Fold each of the squares diagonally and then at 4.5 marks each side. Fold and keep aside.
Now place them in such a way that one corner overlaps another one. I have my middle layer of paper placed on top of the other two. This way it's a little easier when folding!
Notice the marks where the mountain folds comes and where will the valley folds comes in.

3. This is the card's shape, when the mountain folds have been done. The valley fold will make the middle panel slide downwards and then this card would be in a shape of a perfect square!

Now comes the favorite part!! Embellishments!
This is how I embellished it!

This is the cover page.

This panel is when the card opens up flat!

Few more angles!

Closeup looks!

A close up look at the cover of the card!!

I hope you all liked the card and would attempt to make one!! Do remember to enter into the challenge to win some exciting prices!

Love in Paris: A love card!

Hello Everyone!

It's Manu here and I know many of you had been waiting for the challenges done by Papericious and yes, we have started a monthly challenge starting this April 2016, Read all about the challenge here

Well, we all love to make various things and what more than a challenge which allows anything that you make, with an exception that the creation should have one papericious product used (craft sheets and blending tools, does not qualify for the entry). So, get going and create some awesome papericious creations and we would love to see what you would be making !

For my first post for April, I'm using the 'Love in Paris' paper stack and I totally love the pink and yellow hues in this pack!! Apart from scrapbooking I find these ideal for making cards!!!! The soft colors add a real charm to the cards. Here's what I made!

I picked up a yellow hue paper which had some nice bird on it and made a Z fold card!!! This card's fold is a real pretty one!

Assembled a few flowers and embellishments and tadaa... the card is ready!

Well, it took me less than 45 minutes to make this one and thats real quick!

I hope you like my take on the paris themed papers and make sure to play along with us in our first challenge which is 'Anything Goes' Read about the challenge rules in the link above!

Do let me know if you liked the card!! Until next time!!

Memory box Album with a tutorial

Hello Everyone!

I'm Manu and yes I had two consecutive posts this time on the papericious blog!!! I'm back with a tutorial on how to make a Memory Box Album!!! Well, this album can house a lot of pictures and messages, yet is very unlike the normal handmade albums we do!! This one has lots of flaps and is a lot interactive one!!! And yes, Memory Box Album is what I call this one as. Used the Ephemera collection which is the March release from Papericious and trust me, this collection is to be loved loved loved by all the Vintage loving folks out there!!!

Here's the Memory Box Album!

I totally love making albums and different types of albums is what I look towards making !!! This one is an absolute favorite of mine these days!!

Lets see how Did I make this one!

The Good thing about this album is that keeping the base structure same, we can do a lot of different types of panel placements to make these albums interactive!!

I took a piece of 8*6 cardstock(remember to take a high gsm paper for this album). The other two panels are 4.5*8 and 4.5*8 which on which I have scored at 1/4 at three regular intervals to add dimension to the album!!! This way, while adding more panels and pictures inside, the album can accommodate everything!

Here are the measurements of the panels!!! Like I said, that there is no particular rule to be followed and the placements of the panels can be done as per your imagination and wish!! Remember to add more depth to the album on the side panels if you wish to make it very much picture centric album!!!

Here's how I have done the embellishment!

The Front page!!!

This is how the album opens up!!

This is the right hand side panel all opened up!

Here's the middle panel opened up!!

The middle panel has a waterfall structure to keep up with the every growing pictures and moments associated with them!!!

I hope you all liked the Memory Box album!!! Do try out the new packs and I'm sure that you will love them as much as I do!!!

Happy Crafting!
