"Down at the Grosvenor" by Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome Papericious friends.
Tina here with you today to share a layout created with gorgeous Papericious goodies. This project I have titled "Down at the Grosvenor"......

My title name came about simply because this is the place where my children use to love to go on a weekend or in the school holidays when they were very young. Catching red claw was what they loved to do there and just simply explore the surroundings. I loved it too and really do miss it so.

So more about the layout. For my project I used the products below. I firstly covered these very cute hot air balloons with a thick coverage of Papericious Crackle Paint and left these to dry for a couple of hours. The crackle effect is awesome. Once it was dried I cut one of the balloons in half length ways and then inked the edges and over the cracks with Distress Walnut Stain Ink.

I then started on my background page using my fave collection from Papericious - Fleur Fun. I have used the yellow spots and the yellow butterfly papers. The yellow spots were primed with a Clear Gesso and left to dry. I then added in strips running lengthways down the centre to the right edge of the page of the yellow butterfly paper. I also added in between some of these layers some corrugated board from an old box that I tore up. I adhered these and then also cut a photo mat from another sheet of the yellow butterfly. These were all adhered and then I added in some texture using a Cadence Stencil with Papericious Modelling Paste. This was left to dry. When it dried I painted a little of Natural White Papericious Chalk Paint over the corrugated pieces. I also added in a little random stamping with a script stamp and Distress Walnut Stain ink.

The Papericious Chipboard Collage piece Checkers was inked using some Walnut Stain Distress Ink. While it was still wet I added over some White Papericious Gesso just to lighten the darkness a little bit.

I then went to work on embellishing my layout. I firstly added in the Hot Air Balloons. The full Balloon to the right and under the photo. The other one which I previously cut in half was added under the photo and the left of the photo and the other half at the left of the layout. I worked on adding in some pretty florals in ginger and mushroom colours to co-ordinate with the yellow. I also added in some green leaves and hand dyed muslin.

I also added in a handmade Flourish mould. This was coloured with Distress Ink also. I added in cut up pieces of the Papericious Checkers Chipboard.
Lastly I dry brushed my project with a little White Gesso to keep with the shabby chic themed that I was wanting to have.

And that was it. I hope you enjoyed this project with me today.
Stay tuned for more fantastic projects from the Design Team coming your way.
Take care and happy crafting.

"You and Me" by Tina Ollett

Hello and a big welcome to the Papericious blog. Tina Ollett with you here today after a very long time. Postal deliveries to Australia are sometimes a long wait. But it was well worth the wait for my recent goodies box from Aastha. I couldn't wait to break the box open and get busy.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw the colours of the above "Hooked" collection. Such rich colours!  and so many flowers to cut and layer....and that is pretty much what I did. And this is what I came up with. I have called this "You & Me". The photo is of my Mum with me only days old.

"You & Me"......
I have used both of the pink polka dots papers. One was used for the background. It was randomly stamped using Black Archival Ink and a Postal Stamp. I cut more florals from the red floral sheet and layered the pieces around a half size black and white photo.
Amongst the layers I decided to add in some handmade embellishments using embossing powders and a flourish with acetate. I heat set it and then fussy cut the flourishes into sections and adhered the pieces in and around the layout amongst the layers.
I also used a coat of the White Chalk Paint over the top of  a mould. This was cut in half and added to the top and bottom of my photo to help elongate the framing of my photo.

I cut my title from the quote sheet. So many to choose from. A great addition to every great project.
To  the centres of my flowers and to the title card I added on some glitter to help it sparkle a little.

Decoupage Creativity with Tina Ollett

Hello Papericious friends. A big warm welcome from sunny and warm Queensland, Australia.
For the past few weeks here we have been treated to some very spectacular warmish weather. So being inside in the airconditioning has been where I can be found playing today especially with the ever so gorgeous Decoupage Papers "Flora Season".
And this is my finished project.

I decided upon using these Decoupage papers to keep the sizing in A4. So I used a piece of thick chipboard to back my first piece of paper. I used Gel Glue to do this then primed my Decoupage Sheet with clear Gesso. Using a dry brush with white gesso and a mix of Liquid Pearls colours (Rose Gold, Orchid, and White Opal), I painted my background page. I also made some white splatters with a watered down mix of white gesso.
I then primed both my Collage Chippis with White Gesso. They are as below... are they pretty ?
I then went on to dress the chippis with my mix of Liquid Pearl Colours as previously noted. I used just the nozzle to apply and then allowed them to partly dry. I then used a pointed tool to blend the colours a little.

I have added in some white muslin along with white lace to soften my project.

How gorgeous is the wings from the Collage Chippies. Stunning chipboard pieces.

Above you can see the colours on the Collage Chippi pieces and the dimension added by the liquid pearls. I also added in some material flowers along with leaves from my very old stash. These were all dry brushed and coloured with Liquid Pearls as well.

You can also see the layers of the second piece of Decoupage that I used as matting for my photo. These pieces were sanded a little to show through the white core to keep with the shabby theme of my project.

Well that is all from me today. Thank you so much for dropping by. I do hope I have inspired you in some small way to create something for yourself this week. Even if it is something small.

Until next time take care and happy crafting.

"Wanderlust" by Tina Ollett

A very warm welcome Papericious friends. Tina here with you today with my last post before Christmas. As the year is winding down my workload has seemed to have doubled. But my love for what I do is still the same as when I started out 11 years ago. I still love to share all that I learn from my mistakes and the challenges I sometimes face. So today I would love to share with you my friends a layout, not a Christmas layout, but a beach layout!!
This is the time of the year here in Australia that finds our family at the beach more than ever. And this is one of those photos from years gone past. I absolutely adore this photo of my youngest and our furfriend Raphael. He loves the beach and water (typical labrador), but more than those two things he loves to keep our daughter Cydne safe, especially in the water. He will guide her and sometimes grab her arm and very gently pull her back to the waters edge. It is a beautiful thing to see and he has done this since he was very little. It must be a labrador instinctual thing to do. This is what I see when I look at this photo, a protector and a dear friend not matter what!
So when I printed this photo off, the colours for me were not what I was looking for, but the memory behind it definitely was. So I decided to change my photo to a black and white, and dim out the water a little to leave the focus of the two of them swimming out to sea.
My next step was choosing a paper. And for this layout I decided to go with the new release
Jack and Jill collection that you see below.

I also included some of the beautiful Wanderlust Collage Chippis.
 Wanderlust Collage Chippis

This is my project below........ "Wanderlust".

Once I came across the blue piece in the Jack and Jill collection I just knew that it would become a beach project combined with the Wanderlust Chippis. A great combination to start with. I did a lot of background mixed media work on the paper using clear gesso and Papericious Chalk Paint in Natural White. I have also used Distress Inks combined with the Natural White chalk paint to colour my flowers. Adding a drop of the ink into the Natural white instantly gave me the colours I was looking for. Perfect for changing up the flowers from 49andMarket that I have used here.

I also coloured some netting that I had in my collection. This was where I started layering and embellishing my layout. I used a 4 x 6 landscape photo, sanded the edges and also gave the edges some colour using the mixed colours and then mounted it on 3D foam tape to give my layout more dimension.

Here you can see my Anchor from the Wanderlust Collage Chippis Set. It was firstly crackled in white paste and allowed to dry. I inked the edges of it with Black Soot Distress Ink and then coloured it with my paint colour mixes. I popped in some shells and art stones too. These were again all coloured.

The font for the Wanderlust title from the Chippi Collage set is just stunning. I love it!! This was simply inked in Black Soot Distress Ink. In the photo above you can see the random stamping that I did also.

Another view of the Anchor. You can see the layers made with the netting, flowers, chipboard and then more flowers along with the Art Stones and Shells.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you enjoyed my project for today. I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very safe and happy Christmas and a most merry New Year from my family to yours. I will see you all again in the New Year.

Take care .......

Everyone gets an equal chance here, so whether you are a novice or an experienced crafter, all are welcome to play along with our challenges.

So with all the rules in mind and the Challenge set I got to thinking about all that is going on around me in my household at present. It is a little crazy to say the least. All my teenagers are so busy and they keep me on my toes. And with Christmas only 15 days away and so much Design Team work to get through I wanted to create something just for me. Something very pretty but just for me.

So I have used 3 or more of the Decopague Papers. I have to tell you I have never done decoupage in my life, so the way I decided to use these papers is just like I would normally use any of my scrapbooking papers. I absolutely adore the colours of these papers and I just went with the colours from the papers and built the cover of my Papericious Journal book.
I am very happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it too.
"Gabrielle" - Journal Book Cover

My first thing that I did was to prime my book cover. This journal book cover and insert pages are divinely thick and do not warp with any amount of media let me tell you. I used the Green Decoupage Pattern sheet first and then layered the half of the butterfly Decoupage sheet over the top. Once done I started layering Crackle Paste over the top to create another layer.
I then went to work on fussy cutting elements from the remaining sheets whilst the Crackle Paste dried.
I looooove vintage and this is where I went with the cover. Evergreen Bough, Walnut Stain and Ground Espresso Distress Inks were a perfect match for the colours in the decoupage papers.

Once my layers of papers and fussy cut elements were adhered I went to work on colouring the chipboard collage wings. This is an insanely gorgeous piece of chipboard. I decided to make many layers with this cluster at the edge of the book. I have added in the cutout section of the label from the Gabrielle "Fly Away" paper and then added the first piece of chipboard which was dressed in white gesso and inked with Walnut Stain and Evergreen Bough. I then layered some muslin and then the skeleton wings which was inked in Evergreen Bough and covered with Clear Crackle. I then added on top of this a cutout butterfly. It was dressed in Clear Crackle and dry brushed with a little gesso.
You can see below the outcome of the clear crackle and the layers.

Above here you can see the outcome of the crackle, inks and layers of gesso with flowers added in. The papers really leant themselves to this journal cover. Looking at the papers there are so many elements to choose from.

My flower clusters were arranged around the cutout pieces and coloured with a little of the Evergreen Bough Distress Ink mixed down with a little white gesso and water. I have also added in some charms from my stash. They were cut up and layered around the butterfly at the top left.

I hope you enjoyed my little piece of challenge inspiration. Now Priya would like to share with you her gorgeous piece of inspiration.

TOGETHER FOREVER
Today I have a layout to share that I made with two different collections by Papericious
Christmas is around the corner and here I got the most beautiful gift " The Man of My Life "
And this time, I have created a layout for myself using my own Engagement pictures and I am super happy with the results!
I love the bright fun colours of Papericious Blush Collection, and the amazing Floral Element Sheets that I love so much.
I have used the Femina Collection papers as my base and also layered up papers from same collection. This paper pack has amazing gold foil sheets which are fun to play with..
All the floral fussy cuts are from Papericious Blush Collection!

Few Close Ups:

I have used some sprays to colour my background and then I added little random stamping using Script Stamps with Distress ink to add more dimension on my layout!

Here I heat embossed my chipboard using two Lindy's Embossing Powder to give a double shaded look to my sentiment.. And I just loved the outcome.

Well, that's all from me today!
Thanks for stopping by!
I hope you have a great day!
XOXO
