Vellum Paper Lantern

Hi lovely people,
There is a new release from Papericious and believe me its a must have in your craft cart.
I am talking of the clear embossing powder and the vellum sheet by Papericious.
I would be sharing with you an easy DIY home decor project using the new release.
Lets move on the tutorial..
I made vellum paper lantern by heat embossing the pattern on to the vellum sheet.
First stamp the chosen image using the versamark embossing ink and heat embossed using the Papericious clear embossing powder. I am truly impressed by how quick this powder melts and since its superfine, the Papericious embossing powder is even good for very intricate designs.
Here I have used a large background stamp for creating the panels of the lantern. After the embossing the image I have used Zig clean clear markers to mask the negative space left in the design by giving a wash of three shades black, grey and blue.Use dark shades of colors as it would work as silhouette once the light passes through.
For the frame of the lantern I have cut 4 identical pieces from chipboard/mountboard(6.5 inch x 4.5 inch with 4.5 inch x 3.5 inch window).

Next punch equidistant holes on both edges of each panel frame, we would we using paper cord to tie the panel to each other. You can also use narrow ribbons/jute cord to tie the panels.
Now cut the heat embossed vellum sheet a little bigger than the size of the window and using a two way tape adhere it to the frame.
After all the panels are ready I used the paper cord to weave a cross between each hole on two panels. Repeat the process to put all the panels together. And there you are with vellum lantern.

And here it looks when complete.
 And with LED lights inside.
Another project I made is using the Papericious white chippis The range has some very pretty and intricate designs. I created this quick note card holder. Have used the Ethereal paper pack. The little holder  holds small cards. This can be perfect gift to your family, friends or colleagues with some positive thoughts inside.

Hope you liked both the projects. Do leave some love below.
Keep crafting
