Hi lovely people,
Wishing you all a very Happy and Crafty year ahead!!
Today we, Lekha and Divya would love to host this month's new challenge.

This month we are asking you to create any project with Something Old + Something New
Use a new crafty item as well as an old one in your creation.

4. Please go through the general guidelines HERE before you link up your projects. Any project not following the rules will be disqualified and it will not be eligible for the prizes.

We also have some exciting news to share. We have received a lot of requests from people who wanted to participate in our challenges, but didn't have a blog yet or didn't know how to make one. Keeping in mind all these requests, we have decided to accept entries via different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Flickr.

We have a few rules which you must keep in mind while entering our challenges via any of the above-mentioned platforms.

1. You MUST mention the products used from Papericious in your post.
2. You MUST give a direct link to the Papericious challenge post and make a mention about this in your post. (Ex: "I am entering my project in the Papericious January 2018 Challenge" followed by a link to the challenge post).
3. You HAVE  to use the hashtags #papericious AND #papericiouschallenge when sharing your work via Facebook or Instagram so that we can find your entry.
4. When sharing your work via Facebook or Instagram, please make sure that your profile is PUBLIC else we will not be able to view your entry and it will be disqualified.
5. After you have created a project for the challenge and posted about it on any of the social media, be sure to come back and link your entry with the help of the InLinkz tool at the end of the post so that we know you have entered our challenge. Failure to do so will lead to disqualification.

Now onto the exciting part, the prizes! Papericious will be giving away TWO prizes every month.

1. The DT will be selecting a Merit Winner at the end of every challenge who will stand a chance to win a gift voucher worth INR 500 from the  Papericious Store.
2. We will also be having a Random Winner from all the entries who enter their projects every month to win a Papericious 6"x6" Pattern Paper Pad. (If we receive at least 15 qualifying entries)

Everyone gets an equal chance here, so whether you are a novice or an experienced crafter, all are welcome to play along with our challenges.

Here is my take on Something Old + Something New.

I have upcycled an old box using the new Perfect Affair decouapge papers and chipboard. I have distressed the edges of the decoupage paper with a paper knife, just to add a little dimemsion to it.Fussy cut the images from the paper and used foam tape to adhere them to the boket background. Chipboards, mulberry flowers ,fused pearls are few embellishments which are my fav when it comes to giving new look to some old project. Another thing is the gold foil which I added randomly to my red background. Isn't the makeover pretty..

And here is Divya's lovely project..
For today's challenge, I am up-cycling the classic Old Monk bottle into a mixed media project using products from Papericious.

I have used their Decoupage paper - Whimsical and Monochrome Pattern paper, Decoupage Glue, my Fav chalk paints and I got a chance to try out the White crackle paste.
I painted the bottle with 2 coats of chalk paint, glued torn pieces of paper and added colour splashes. I then went on to add a few shades of dark purple in a few areas, let it dry  and then added the white crackle medium. It resulted in these beautiful cracks you see here!

I had a lot of fun working on this project and I hope you guys enjoy it too!

Hope you would get inspired from our project. Do join us for the new challenge.
Keep crafting!
Lekha
