Little Keepsake

Hello Everyone!

This side Neha! Hope you all are doing well.

Today I welcome you all on the Papericious blog to share a tutorial on how to make a little keepsake box for your friends/family using Decoupage Papers from Papericious and Cube MDF Box. You can keep your jewellery pieces and stationery or put some chocolates and gift it to someone with the same name initial. I have made this for my sister with her name initial.

Now look at some pictures:

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:

1. Start by applying a layer of Gesso and let it dry for 15 minutes.

2. After gesso has dried, apply Papericious Chalk Paint - Turret to the inside part of the box. Apply two coats (because it is a light shade).

3. Moving onto outside of the box. Paint it with a Pearl Pink Chalk Paint. Similarly apply two coats of it also.

4. Now it's time to apply Decoupage papers. Papericious has launched some beautiful decoupage papers with amazing prints. I have used Ephemera from their collection.

I started off by applying Decoupage Glue and pasting paper on smaller areas. This will not create bubbles in your decoupage.
5. I have fussy cut the flowers and butterfly and pasted to the lower part of the box using Decoupage glue.
6. Meanwhile the decoupage is drying, i have heat embossed the initial H with silver embossing powder and versamark ink.
7. Distress the edges of box with victorian velvet distress ink.

8. Lastly paint the lower part of the box and put a coat of varnish and your box is ready. I have used some accessories to make it more decorative like corners and butterfly.

SUPPLIES USED:

Ephemera - Papericious Decoupage Papers

Pearl Pink - Papericious Chalk Paint

Turret - Papericious Chalk Paint

Cube MDF Box

That is all for today! I hope you are inspired by my project.

Thank you for stopping by!
Hugs,
Neha
