Decoupage - Keepsake Box

Hello, this is Tanvi & Welcome back!
Today I have a pictorial of a keepsake box showcasing the Flora Season Decoupage papers.
For the box I wanted to retain the shabby colors & look of this decoupage paper but at the same time alter the look completely. Did I succeed? Please let me know!
Briefly here are the steps to create this gorgeous box.
Begin by carefully cutting the floral images.
Remove all the hardware from the box.
I selected chalk paints from my stash that coordinated well with the papers & painted the sides of the box.
Next trim the damask paper to the size of the lid & decoupage it. Let dry.
To enhance the shabby look I wanted to create a doily effect over this pattern. So I will use doilies as stencil.
I painted over the lid with dark red chalk paint.
Once done carefully lift the doilies & viola you have a beautiful doily pattern, gorgeous, isn't it! (Tip:Make sure to lift off the doily before the paint dries)
After this I decoupaged the floral motifs over the doily.
For the base I created bands of the two contrasting colors by, masking over the painted base.
Finished the box with 3 layers of varnish & light sanding between each layer.
Here are some closeups of the box -
A creative start to 2019 for me......this is already my 3rd post 😊 & hoping to continue inspiring you all with the amazing new launches by Papericious.
Thanks for stopping by today & Happy Decoupaging!

Parisian Theme Altered box

Hi Friends,
I hope you all are having a great time and enjoying the winters with you loved ones. For today's post I came up with a Parisian themed altered box.

I used an old watch box and adhered the black patterned paper on all the sides. I created a white bordered square on the top of the box and then decoupaged the Eiffel Tower and the flower cluster  using the Papericious Decoupage Glue. To add some jazz and shine I mixed some iridescent glitter in the decoupage glue and used it as a top layer.

I love the result and by using few pattern papers and decoupage papers you can alter old boxes and give them a new life.
I hope you liked this post.
Happy crafting!
love

Decoupage MDF Book Box and Altered Wooden Key holder

Hello people.

Chirali this side with new projects on Decoupage featuring the latest release of Decoupage papers of Papericious.

There are two projects to share with you all, one is Decoupaged MDF Book Box and other is Altered Key Holder.

Here they are:

Here are the individual photos with details:

I painted the MDF box in brown, dry brushed with white chalk paint followed by brown distress inks on that white chalk painted area. Then I cut the decoupage paper in shape I wanted, glued it with decoupage glue and finished the whole thing with top coat of decoupage glue.

You can see the shine it gets after applying decoupage glue.

Now, altered key holder:

I painted the wooden piece with chalk paint followed by dry brushing using silver acrylic paint. Then I cut the flowers and chandelier from decoupage paper, applied decoupage glue on the back side of paper, adhered them tightly, added fonts on small piece of deco paper, gave some outlines with silver paint and finished everything with top coat of decoupage glue.

I hope you liked it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Chirali. :)

Video Tutorial using Papericious Decoupage Supplies

Hello everyone,

Sunila and Aditi here today and we're excited to share a video tutorial with you all.

We've worked with the Papericious September release Decoupage Papers and Glue and we must say we love them.

The papers are easy to use and come in two sizes - 6" x 6" and 8" x 8". They come as a set of two perfectly coordinating patterns. The quality of the paper is great- not too thick nor too thin, just right to be able to decoupage.

The Decoupage Glue is fantastic as well. What we loved the most about this glue is that it remains tacky for a little longer, giving us enough time to play with our paper placement. With this, traditional techniques of Decoupage can be used.  The Papericious Decoupage Glue comes in two sizes - 60 g and 200 g.

Here's a look at our project today:
