Unique Gift Boxes + Tutorial

Hello people.

Chirali here with a new post showing how to turn die cut boxes in a unique gift boxes. This is so much of a fun way to decorate these die cut boxes. I have a tutorial of two of such boxes.

So here we go!!

From left to right : Cake Pie Box, Popcorrn Box, Circle Flap Favor Box!

Popcorn Box

First of all, draw an image of one side of popcorn box, by putting a folded one side of die cut, on a back side of patterned paper. Do it 4 times.

Cut them from a bit inside than drawn image to make the base box appear as a border.

Take a cardboard piece of 0.5", wrap it with a complementing patterned paper, do it thrice more and stick the balloon as shown in the image.

You will have the stripes visible inside the box so I repeated the first step of drawing and cutting on a blank white paper and added as a cover of stripes inside the box.

Now decorate the box as you like.

Mine is here, a unicorn themed one:

Ears and eyes are hand drawn and cut. Ears have been painted with chalk paint.

These are homemade chocolates just to show an example.

Circle Flap Favor Box

I personally love this box due to it's closure style. I wanted to make it a cuter one. Balloon has been used so now what to do?

So I have made it a cloudy one.

Have a look to the quick tutorial first:

Cut the shapes as per measurements and stick the same. If you do not have circle cutter, you can do the same thing as of popcorn box, draw and cut from little inside.

Left image shows how simply you can assemble the box. You get the box with ready tacky tape. And to give you idea about how to close this, right image will do the needful.

Complete box!! You will find a little space in the center so I decided to make clouds hanged on a small circle.

To make the clouds, 4 cloud die cuts, 2 on front side of PP, 2 on back side so that clouds can be made as shown in below image.

Sorry for now having a tutorial on the cloud thing.

To make such cloud, fold all the four die cuts in half and stick them together with patterned size visible outer side.

I took an aluminium ring, wrapped it with paper, make holes at almost equal distance, hanged louds with woolen white thread and decorate ring with flowers and a small tag.

To make this ring stand, I have taken a strong wired four pipe cleaners, covered with a stiff thread and made them stand on a ribbon role base.

Cake Pie Box

Above ones were the stylish and unique ones.  These boxes are beautiful in a simple way too. Simply cut and adhered patterned papers and a simple decoration which can also make a box beautiful.

I hope you like it. Do let me know if any queries are there.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs,
Chirali. :)

Cute Gift Boxes and Candle holder

Hello, everyone! Heena here. I'm so delighted to share with you my first post as the design team member.

As you all know Papericious has released some amazing die cut boxes which are pre-scored and taped to make it easier for you to make treat boxes for your loved ones. It is great for making gift boxes in bulk and also great for lazy crafters :p as you don't have to go through the hassles of cutting, scoring and taping all you have to do is fold, stick and decorate.

So today I'm sharing these cute and easy gift boxes I made using the die cut boxes.

                                                                   Cake Pie Box

I painted this box with the chalk paint in shade villa plum and used a pattern paper from the back to basics paper pack. On the sides, I taped the edges and applied some modelling paste and messed it a little to make it look like the frosting between the cake layers.

                                                                           Popcorn Box

I have created a candle holder using the popcorn box. For that, I freehanded some geometric shapes on the wrong side and fussy cut it using a pen knife (Tip: use a new blade, draw shapes that are easier to cut and avoid drawing small shapes) I'm not a fan of fussy cutting but I was able to make smooth cuts in just one stroke even though the material is thick and hence started enjoying the process. Then stick your pattern paper outside and flip it and start cutting through the cuts. I painted the insides with chalk paint in shade Bracket green. Place a fake tea light candle inside.

                                                Square favour box
To paint this box I mixed some black chalk and white gesso to create a grey shade and used a pattern paper from the Azelian paper pack. I have tied the box with ivory jute cord.

I hope you liked my creation, Thank you for visiting!

Gifting ideas with Die Cut Boxes

Hello everyone,
Today we are so thrilled! It's our first post for Papericious this term and it's a dream come true!

The Papericious September release has so many fun products, especially the die cut boxes for the coming festive season.

These boxes come in a pack of 5 with different shapes, pre- scored and pre-taped in a stiff 350g Ivory Paper. They are sturdy enough for stenciling with various mediums, spraying with colors and inking.

The best thing is these make great gift boxes for any occasion.

Today we've picked three of these boxes and designed them. Here's a look at them.

Popcorn Box

For this box, we used the Azealian Paper pack. We've alternated two patterned papers for the sides inside and out. To embellish, we die cut a lace border and a doily and layered it. We completed it with some mulberry friends.

Favor Box with Handle

For this box, we used the Indie Chic Paper pack and cut some elements from the die cut sheet in the pack to embellish the box. For the base, we used a stencil with distress ink first and then layered our papers. The base paper layer was die cut to achieve the zigzag border.

Cake Pie Box

For this box we've used the Back to Basics Paper pack for our layering. We used the Sigma card stock to make some paper flowers. We used some lace for the layering.

Like you can see, it is really easy to decorate these boxes and it doesn't take too long.
