Hello everyone,
Sunila and Aditi here today with a quick and easy Layout Tutorial. Today we are revisiting Papericious' older products and ranges- The Whimsical Paper Collection, Collage Chipboards, Jute Cords, Spritz Sprays and Chalk Paints along with the new release Papericious Twinkling Spark.
A layout is usually at 12"x12" piece of art, with one or more photographs as the focal. It initially was a way to scrap memories and journal about them in a 12" format. Now, the scope is wider, with people using it as a way of expression also apart from scrapping memories.
Here's a look at the layout we will be creating today:
Let's begin:
Step 1: Choose a background paper from the collection. We've chosen the one with a scene as it already lends meaning to our layout. We then brushed it with Clear Gesso to prime the surface.
Step 2: Choose a stencil, and spray some Spritz colours randomly around the focal image to create texture and add colour.
Step 4: Instead of a focal photograph, we decided to use a quote from the paper collection. We also fussy cut elements from the sheet in the pack. Use corrugated cardboard to give depth to the focal quote.
Step 5: Choose other elements for layering. We picked lace, floral blooms, and collage chipboard elements. We coloured the chipboard pieces with Papericious Chalk Paints. We coloured the blooms and lace with the same sprays. We're also using the jute cord in our layering.
Step 6: Once happy with the arrangement, glue it all down. Mix Papericious Soft Gloss Gel with Twinkling Spark, and randomly apply it onto the layout.
With that the layout is complete. Here are some close-up shots:
