Mixed Media with Decoupage Papers & Chalk Paints

Hello Everyone,

Hope you're having a great new year so far:)!

Sunila and Aditi here and we're back with some mixed media inspiration for you all! Today we've played with the New Decoupage Papers and Chalk Paints Papericious launched.

The Decoupage paper we realised, is not just good for home-decor/decoupage projects but also great for mixed media.

We also took up a small challenge for ourselves two create two different projects using more or less the same supplies :-)!

First, we've created a Mixed Media Tag. For this, we've layered the decoupage paper onto our base tag and stuck it with the decoupage glue. Next, using a stencil and the crackle paste we added some texture to our background.  For more interest, we used the chalk paints diluted with water and splashed them on the background. We then fussy cut the floral bunches from the paper and layered them. We used the soft gloss gel to add sequins and crystal clear powder randomly. We completed the tag with a title and a jute cord.

Our second project is a mixed media card. It can also be used as an inspiration for your art journal pages. For this one, we used white cardstock as our background layer. We poured a blob of the chalk paint onto our craft mat and misted it with water. We then swirled the cardstock around, to lift the paint. We then used a stencil and rubbed two shades of chalk paint randomly on the prepped background with our fingers. To add some more interest, we used a stamp and randomly stamped it with black ink. We used the decoupage paper and die cut some elements. We also used some pre-cut die elements and lace. We arranged all of these and added a sentiment. We completed it with randomly adhering sequin. We mounted this piece on a black card base.
